Something I always think about when I go to buy furniture is the sales man asking me “What can I do to get you in this Today”. Let me tell you this is about the most annoying phrase that can be barked out by a salesman. I have changed my furniture shopping a bit and run into a few places that have found good furniture at a good price w/o the feeling that I am a piece of peppermint candy on an ant hive.

-If I am buying new furniture I usually look for a wholesaler…until recently I found a place near where we live that sells new furniture for half the price and no haggling. A friend of mine requested we visit this country bumpkin place out in the middle of nowhere. When I say nowhere I mean you will feel like you are lost 20 miles in the deep woods of the Francis Marion forest before you find this little honey pot of a furniture store. We were looking for bunk beds today, and ended up visiting 5 stores before finally giving in to the trip…It was well worth the trip, we saved at least $200 on nice, new, real wood beds. The name of the store was Week-End Furniture Store. They are open Thurs-Sun. and are located on Hwy 45 in a town called Honey Hill (I think it has a name because of the furniture store.) – - I am writing this blog because I really did like this place, and they have no knowledge of it:) – -

- If I am buying used furniture I usually shop at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. There are several in our area, and they just about always have something I want to buy…not always what I am looking for though. I shop here as often as possible because of the money savings, and the proceeds go to a worthy cause.

Ever need a new appliance or fixture in your house but you don’t have the money? You may want someting original to go with your decorating. I use our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Usually when I need something for my house I look here first. The store contains all kinds of building supplys, furniture, appliances, fixtures, etc. from builders and other home owners.
I purchased a Kohler $220 dollar toilet from this store in brand new condition for $20, then the next week I purchased the same toilet agian from another ReStore for the same price. Just another example would be the Jacuzzi tub I purchased for my added on bathroom. I purchsed it for $50, and I think this particular tub was $800 in the Building superstore.
If you are looking for a deal check out your phone book to see if you have a ReStore near you. We just had a new ReStore open in our area in an old 84 Lumber Store. Its located in Goose Creek At the intersection of 52 and Rt. 176. Remember if you don’t find what you are looking for the first time, come back the next week, new stuff comes in all the time.
