Happy Thanksgiving!…Don’t forget a few safety tips when you are cooking your turkey in the fryer this year.
-A fryer without a thermostat can heat past the oils combustion temperature so keep an eye on your oil and buy a thermometer.
-Don’t put too much oil in the fryer…the oil can overflow and cause a fire when you put the turkey in.
-Use a thawed turkey. If your turkey is frozen, make sure it thaws before you fry it (dry off any excess moisture).
-Water reacts violently with extremely hot oil (oil hotter than 212 F) avoid putting any water in the fryer.
-The handles on the fryer get very hot…remember to wear gloves if you are wanting to move the fryer.
-Do Not use the fryer on a wooden deck or any other wooden structure.

-Lower the turkey slowly into the oil…with the proper tools.
-Keep a General purpose fire extinguisher(A,B,C) handy while frying.
-Follow all rules and cooking instructions with your particular turkey fryer as some my be different than others.
-Never leave the fryer unattended with pets and children.
-If a fire starts in the fryer, have someone call 9-1-1
